The studio's services & its portfolio
The primary goal of the Sauvie Island Organics site redesign was to make it easier to use, especially with regard to the content that was important to existing and prospective members.
To achieve this goal I first identified the most important content and then restructured the information architecture to push the most important items and services to the top of the hierarchy and front of the site.
Next I created a design that focused on the content as well as the brand. I implemented a simple CSS / XHTML template and a global and local navigation systems.
I edited pages that consisted mainly of text to make them easier to read and easier to scan, by using lists, headings and emphasizing keys words and phrases.
One of the most important items of content was the membership form. I enhanced its functionality by using PHP and JavaScript for processing and validation.
